The aim is to create a single European data space –a genuine single market for data, open to data from across the world –where personal as well as non-personal data, including sensitive business data, are secure and businesses also have easy access to an almost infinite amount of high-quality industrial data, boosting growth and creating value.

EU will use its convening power as well as funding programmes to strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty for the data-agile economy. This will be done through standard setting, tool development, best practices collection on how to deal with personal data (especially around pseudonymization) as well as build-out of next-generation infrastructures for data processing.
